In her interview during Comic-Con last week, Cobie revealed some interesting facts about the way she met her fellow Canadian actress Evangeline Lily and how she reacted when she first found out what will happen in the final episode of “How I met Your Mother.”
Robin Scherbatsky was almost Kate Austen
If you are a fan of the mysterious island that came out of nowhere, keeps disappearing and re-emerging, and provides awake nightmares to its confused inhabitants – in one word “Lost” – you will certainly love this interesting trivia.
Namely, Cobie and Evangeline were both auditioning for the part of Kate Austen on “Lost”, but Evangeline apparently did a better job portraying the difficult role.
“Evangeline and I were both testing for Lost. She owes a lot to me because I went in and I bombed the audition. [laughs] And she was like, ‘Thank you!'” joked Cobie.
Just imagine that weird parallel universe in which Cobie plays Kate on “Lost” and Evangeline plays Robin Scherbotsky on “How I met Your Mother.”
Ending of HIMYM (spoilers ahead)
The shocking finale of the famous sitcom still raises many eyebrows and fans were left quite disappointed when the mother died so suddenly in the end.
Cobie was also shocked when she found out the surprising twist and she admitted she even started to weep.
“We had just finished a table read and something happened where I said, ‘What is going on?’ to Craig Thomas, our creator. It was over lukewarm scrambled eggs and he said, ‘Do you want me to tell you what happens?’ And I said, ‘I guess.’ And he just summarized it and I just started weeping,” the Canadian actress said.
“It’s their vision nine years after they thought of this pilot idea. And it just…it’s a lot of things. It’s a lot of things for me. But it was great that they got to see their vision through.”
