James Cameron finally said what everyone else was thinking. The new Terminator movie is going to be true sequel to the iconic first two installments and we are definitely gonna be hearing a lot about this upcoming and long overdue cybernetic mayhem they’ve got in store for us.
The franchise creator has put the Avatar sequels on hold for just a sec in order to express his full support and faith in this long awaited movie.
“It’s very respectful of the first two films and then all of a sudden it just swerves. I feel like the franchise has been reinvigorated. This is a renaissance. I think of the new film as the third film,” said Cameron and also praised Emilia Clarke’s endorsement as the new Sarah Connor.
“For women, I think she represents a kind of empowerment, yet there’s a vulnerability there.”
Though Cameron’s involvement in the upcoming Terminator movie has been entirely unofficial, there have been certain meetings, chats and talks with Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures and it appears that the mastermind himself likes what he sees thus far.
“Terminator Genisys” sees Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) volunteering to go back in time and save John’s mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), but once he arrives he realizes that the timeline has been tinkered with and nothing is the way he wanted and hoped it would be.
As for the new Sarah, Emilia’s character has lost her parents to a Terminator attacks and was raised by an ageing version of Arnie’s T-800.
Kyle, on the other hand, needs her help when an Asian model of the iconic morphing metal T-1000 threatens to kill him.
Sarah and Kyle must work together to figure out the way to stop Judgment Day from happening, yet again.
Make sure you have your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle soon, as “Terminator Genisys” will hit our big screens in about 20 days.
