Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you may be aware that the hit television show “How I Met Your Mother” has come to an end. On the heels of its finale a spin off program titled “How I Met Your Dad” was launched. The new television show will follow a similar format with a different cast and is now set to feature the voice talents of Meg Ryan.
The star actress of “When Harry Met Sally” agreed to join the cast after seeing how well the “How I Met Your Mother” finale was received. Meg Ryan will be playing the future version of actress Greta Gerwig’s character, Sally, and will narrate the intro to every episode. Future Sally will play across from Bob Saget’s character. This will be Meg Ryan’s first foray into prime time since her appearance in the Showtime program, “Web Therapy.”
“How I Met Your Dad” will star Greta Gerwig, Andrew Santino, Tiya Sircar, and Anders Holm of “Workaholics” fame. The program will be continued by the original creators of the hit show, “How I Met Your Mother”. Fans of the show should appreciate the similarities in format though it remains to be seen just how popular the product will be. “Mother” became so popular on the heels of the ensemble performance that consisted of breakout stars Jason Segel and Neil Patrick Harris. Someone from this new crop of actors will need to step up and stand out. With the addition of Meg Ryan, “How I Met Your Dad” may have the star power that it needs to make it in the competitive television market.
