Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “I’ll be back” catch phrase from “Terminator 2” is probably one of the most famous and most quoted phrases in the history of movies, and now we have the official date when the most famous cybernetic organism with living tissue over metal endoskeleton will indeed be back.
Over at Paramount Pictures are apparently eager to start working on the second and third installments of their rebooted Terminator franchise.
They will kick off next summer with “Terminator: Genisys” on July 1, while “Terminator 2” has been marked for May 19, 2017. “Terminator 3” is scheduled for June 29, 2018.
Crew and the story
This time, Paramount is joining forces with Skydance Productions. Thor’s director Alan Taylor is currently behind the camera for Genisys through the post-production process. Beautiful Emilia Clarke will embody Sarah Connor in this one, with Jason Clarke as her son John and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.
As we all know, Arnold Schwarzenegger is reprising his most famous roles as the Terminator (and possibly more, according to the insiders. What this means exactly, we can only play the waiting game.)
When it comes to the plot, details are being kept secret at the moment, but the story will most certainly blend the plot from the 1984 classic with some new and fresh tweaking, and the original idea of a technological threat to humanity’s future will also be preserved.
So, buckle up. And perhaps get some badass clothes, boots and a motorcycle, for we are in for a bumpy ride.
