You know those movies that you run into when flipping the channels and no matter how many times you’ve seen them so far, you will yet again sit back and enjoy watching them all the way to the final credits, even though you probably know each and every scene by heart?

Well, one of those movies is certainly “The Big Lebowski” and even the Dude himself gets sucked in it every time it’s on TV.

Although the film wasn’t that big of a deal and didn’t make a great impact when it first came to theaters back in 1998, “The Big Lebowski” slowly became an esoteric cultural hit amongst comedy enthusiasts.

Now, if you are that lucky to have an interview with the star of the movie, Jeff Bridges, and you don’t ask him at least one question about this classic, you can consider that ‘interview’ a waste of time, and should probably stop doing the job you have somehow been entitled to do.

Anyway, we have recently found out that Jeff Bridges, The Dude himself is a huge fan of, well, The Dude, just as the rest of us are.

“I don’t watch many of my movies on TV, but whenever I’m flipping the channels, and I’m a big flipper when I watch TV, when Lebowski comes up, I think “Oh I’ll just watch a few scenes” and then I get sucked in, because the scenes are so funny,” Jeff admitted.

And we can’t really blame him, now can we?

Today, this classic is an easy top 3 pick for Coen Brothers aficionados and Jeff Bridges followers. In fact, the movie has gotten so popular over the years, it even launched a form of religion called “Dudeism” based on Jeff’s character.

Dudeism is essentially a modernized form of Taoism purged of all of its metaphysical and medical doctrines. The Dudeists advocate and encourage the practice of “going with the flow”, “being cool headed”, and “taking it easy” in the face of life’s difficulties, believing that this is the only way to live in harmony with our inner nature and the challenges of interacting with other people.

So, if you are among the few comedy enthusiasts who somehow managed not to watch this movie so far, now is the right time to make yourself a White Russian, slip into something more comfortable like your boxers, put on some shades and press that ‘play’ button. You’ll thank me later.
