The cast of “Hannibal” stopped by Comi-Con this past Saturday, and discussed doing a feature film.
Bryan Fuller, Hugh Dancy, Richard Armitage and executive producer Martha de Laurentiis talked about the problems “Hannibal” is facing following NBC’s cancellation of the show after three seasons. After Netflix and Amazon decided not to feature it, the cast is hopeful they will be able to wrap the show up as a movie.
“We are still looking,” Fuller said at the panel.
“We don’t have a lot of answers and we’re looking at the possibility of a feature.”
“We’d like to continue with the show so the way this season ends, there may be an opportunity for a little break and then hopefully we’ll find a way to bring Mads [Mikkelsen] and Hugh [Dancy] back to you.”
Fuller explained that NBC allowed them to do “some crazy sh-t for three years” and that he’s grateful, and will continue to look for another venue for his show.
In case he failed, the thing he would miss the most would be the fans.
“For me, it would be the fannibals and the connection that we’ve had with this very special fan community that has been so overwhelmingly supportive and passionate. First and foremost is the fannibals, a close second is the cast.”
