If you aren’t a Marvel comics fan, you probably don’t know how important Thanos is to the whole Marvel universe. If you were one of those people who didn’t know who that purple grinning dude at the end of “Avengers” was, you probably had questions like “Will we ever see that guy again?”
To answer that: probably yes. In an interview with Nuke The Fridge, as the actor that portrayed Thanos in the previous movies, Josh Brolin had a few things to say about the future of the incredibly powerful intergalactic warlord.
Said Brolin: “The fact that it’s so, it’s like, yeah in 2016 and ’17, what am I going to be doing? Oh, I’m going to be doing that.’ I’m very lucky in that way, man. I just get presented these things and I go wow, really? Why now and why this? The possibilities for Thanos are unlimited.”
As for now, it’s unclear whether Thanos will appear in 2016 or 2017.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has plans for “Captain America: Civil War,” “Doctor Strange,” and “Black Panther” in the upcoming years, so telling in which one of these he will appear is impossible at the moment.
We know for sure that Thanos will be the main antagonist of “The Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 and Part 2.”
These two are scheduled to be released in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
But before then, we are most likely to see another Josh Brolin post-credits scene, which will leave us once again intrigued and with a lot of questions.
